Cebit 2009: Q2 launch
ATI is indeed planning a new refreshed RV770 55nm based
product called RV790. From what we know this is a 55nm chip, most likely a
faster version of the company's RV770 55nm chip with some additional performance.
The chip should launch in Q2 09 and partners are aware of it,
but no one actually knows much its performance or the final specification.
The card should be available before Summer, so before the
end of Q2, and there is a big chance that the launch will occur close to the RV740 launch. The RV740 is the first 40nm
desktop product, but the real 40nm performance card is supposed to launch later.
Radeon 4890 is likely to be the brand for it.
