Supports GTS 250, new SLI profiles

Yesterday, Nvidia released its official Geforce 182.08 WHQL certified drivers dated February 18th. These drivers were originally intended for use on Nvidia Quadro workstations. Fortunately, Nvidia decided to get some WHQL certification with Microsoft and made this release now available for the Geforce 6, 7, 8, 9, and 200-series desktop GPUs.

First and foremost, these drivers add support for the newly released Geforce GTS 250 which made its debut at CeBIT yesterday morning. It's important to note that there are separate hardware ID strings for the GTS 250 and the 9800GTX+ as listed in the nv4_disp.ini file:

NVIDIA_G92.DEV_0612.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+
NVIDIA_G92.DEV_0613.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+

NVIDIA_G92.DEV_0615.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250

Some have suggested that it is possible to SLI a 9800GTX+ with a GTS 250, yet such a configuration will not work. Keep in mind that the GTS 250 has minor physical hardware differences over the 9800GTX+ such as a smaller PCB (9 inches long), a single PCI-E power connector, and a 100MHz increase in memory speed.

In addition, these drivers also include new SLI profiles for some newly released games. No specific titles were mentioned, although we're sure that SLI owners will be pleased by the combination of these drivers with EVGA's latest SLI Enhancement Patch.

A few bug fixes have also been addressed for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of XP and Vista, which can be found in the release notes

GeForce 182.08 WHQL Vista 64-bit

GeForce 182.08 WHQL Vista 32-bit

GeForce 182.08 WHQL XP 64-bit

GeForce 182.08 WHQL XP 32-bit
