Dual and single core

Intel will
reportedly launch two new ultra low voltage processors in late March, and the new CPUs are expected to feature in Intel's CULV platform for thin notebooks.

According to Digitimes, two new CPUs are to be launched, the Core 2 Duo SU9600 clocked at 1.6GHz and priced at $289, and the Core 2 Solo SU3500 at 1.4GHz which should sell for $262 in thousand unit quantities.

Apart from the new CPUs, Intel's CULV platform will utilize SU9400, SU9300, SU3300 and Celeron 723 processors. The multitude of available processors will enable Intel to separate the CULV platform into three levels. Entry level designs will use the Celeron, performance single core designs will use Core 2 Solo CPUs, while the top range dual-core performance segment will be based on Core 2 Duo CPUs.
