Pricey netbooks just got pricier

Although
it's loosing netbook market share to Acer, Asus doesn't seem to be too concerned, and it's planning to increase Eee PC prices by as much as 20 percent in March 2009.

The outfit claims it's being forced to jack up the prices due to increasing costs of components, manufacturing operations and a lousy financial climate. At the moment we're not sure if the price hike will affect all Eee PC models, or just recent models.

Acer, on the other hand, has dropped prices of its 8.9-inch netbooks by €30, following the launch of its 10-inch Aspire One D150.
