Delays

We wrote earlier that many AM3 motherboards faced some performance related issues, and that both AMD 790FX and 790GX boards in AM3 might be delayed a bit. The original plan was to launch the boards together with AM3 boards, but many AM3 boards will be delayed, at least until the end of the month.

AM3 versions of Phenom II, both quad and three-core will launch on Monday and there will be a few boards to match this CPU at launch, while more will come a few weeks later.

Everyone is preparing for Cebit that starts in the first days of March, and we expect that AM3 motherboards won’t be that hard to find on the show, but the first ones might end up slower than DDR2 ones.
