Blames overzealous employee

A Belkin
sales rep, Michael Bayard, was exposed yesterday for using Amazon's Mechanical Turk to recruit reviewers for Belkin products listed on Amazon. He instructed his army of paid zombie reviewers to write short, positive reviews about Belkin products and offered to pay for it, poorly.

Today, Mark Reynoso, President of Belkin, issued a statement saying he was surprised and dismayed to learn of Bayard's sales techniques and says that the company prides itself in having the highest standard of corporate ethics.

He says the company took action to remove Bayard's post, as well as reviews which may have been affected by his "reviewers".
