Gets Best of Innovation Award

Psyko Audio Labs
has shown off its new 5.1 surround headphones at this years Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas,

Dubbed Psyko 5.1 Directional Audio Headphones, the new headset features PsykoWave technology which should emulate "a perfect room" effect, delivering every sound to both ears with the correct direction, timing and volume difference. The headphone has 5 audio drivers, including a subwoofer in each ear cup.

The interesting thing is that Psyko headphones are using the headphone headband to carry the sound to your ears as the front rear and center speakers are placed on top of the headset, or simply in a headband. This is done via so called PsykoWave guides and should give users natural, and not simulated surround sound.

Psyko 5.1 should be available soon with a rather hefty price tag of US $299.99 but if it can deliver "a perfect room" sound, it just may worth the price. After all, the new set got the CES innovation award, didn't it?
