Interesting pricing

Several Taiwanese
retailers are listing Asus GTX 285 and GTX 295 cards for sale.

The ENGTX285/HTDP/1GD3 is priced at NT$15,645, which translates to $475/€343, and it costs a bit less than the GTX 280. It has 1024MB of DDR3 and the core clock is 648MHz.

The dual GPU ENGTX295/2DI/1792MD3 runs at 578MHz and has a 1792MB of DDR3. The price stands at $633/€456, roughly the same as ATI's HD4780 X2 in the same shop.

A Kiwi retailer is listing XFX's 285 and 295 and they cost $530/€381 and $619/€445 respectively. The same retailer is selling Sapphire's HD4870 X2 at the exact same price as XFX's GTX 295.

Basically, the GTX 285 will cost you roughly the same as a GTX 280, while the GTX 295 should end up priced on par with the HD 4870 X2, and this should apply no matter where you live.

Nvidia's new high-end cards are scheduled to launch at CES, January 8th.
