Hops on top of Mario Bros.

According to the number crunching crew over at VGChartz, Wii Sports has now surpassed Super Mario Bros (for NES) sales at 40.24 million units.

This makes Wii Sports the best selling game of all time, at least not counting all those pirated copies of just about everything. The game has been on sale since the introduction of Nintendo's higly successful Wii console, and the fact that it's bundled with the console in most markets probably had something to do with its stellar success.

VGChartz thinks sales of Wii Sports could easily pass the 50 million unit mark.
