Patent application was pants

Microsoft's latest money grabbing scheme, dubbed pay-as-you-go, or PAYG computing, has been denied by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

A few days before the Office received the application, it sent Vole a letter questioning its use of fuzzy terminology and pointing out that Microsoft was, in fact, trying to patent stuff that was already patented. And to think we believed Microsoft had good lawyers.

The decision isn't final and Redmond can appeal the ruling, or reapply with a different patent application.
