Wants a bigger slice of the channel market

According to Digitimes, ECS is set to do some internal restructuring to try to get more retail channel sales and to meet this goal it's suggested that ECS has hired an ex-assistant president from Foxconn's channel business.

The article goes on to say that ECS wants to build its channel brand and this isn't the first time the company has tried to do this, but ECS doesn't exactly have a great brand and a lot of end users are cautious when it comes to buying ECS based on the company's less than stellar track record.

ECS is also said to be launching netbook and MID devices next year, although the article doesn't mention if these will be sold under the ECS brand or not. ECS already had an Atom netbook on show at the Atom launch earlier this year, but it didn't seem to make it to the retail market as far as we're aware.
