HP Mini 1000 goes Atom?

A new HP
netbook appeared on the company's Website over the weekend and it doesn't seem to be a replacement for the VIA-based HP Mini-Note 2133.

Dubbed the HP Mini 1000, the new 10-inch netbook should end up cheaper than the 2133; and punters believe it won't be based on VIA's C7 or Nano CPUs, but rather Intel's Atom, like most netbooks on the market.

The Mini 1000 weighs 1kg, it's less than 2.6cm thick and it will end up costing €399, much less than the 2133 at launch. Considering the 2133's market success, or lack thereof, the lower price and decision to go Atom make a lot of sense.
