Dual-slot card

Our colleagues from VR-Zone managed to get their hands on a sample of the upcoming Radeon HD 4830 card. The card on the pictures comes from MSI and has 640SPs and a 256-bit memory interface.

The card works at 575MHz for the core and comes with 512MB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 1,800MHz. The memory comes from Samsung and these eight chips are rated at 1ns. The card needs a single 6-pin PCI-Express for external power. The card is cooled by a MSI's non-reference dual-slot cooler, which doesn't cool the memory.

According to the info over at VR-Zone, the launch date is pushed back to the 23rd of October and the price should be somewhere below US $150.

You can check out the rest of the pictures here.
