HD 4850 gets the Glaciator treatement

Our colleagues from Donanimhaber.com have managed to snatch the first picture of a non-reference ATI Radeon HD 4850 card. This one comes from Asus and in addition to the Asus's Glaciator cooler. it will also feature 1GB of GDDR3 memory.

According to the post over at Donanimhaber.com, the card works at 625MHz for the GPU, 1996MHz for 1GB of GDDR3 memory paired up with the 256-bit memory interface. The GPU might not be as hot as it was on the reference cards, but the Glaciator only cools the memory chips and the VRM using the airflow that it produces, so we don't know how will this card behave under those conditions.

The PCB looks like the reference one since the holes from the reference cooler are still there and, thanks to the Glaciator, this is now a dual-slot card. The 1GB of GDDR3 memory might not influence the performance of this card but the Glaciator cooler might keep it well below 80 degrees measured on the reference card and help quiet things down, as well.

You can find the picture here, and the forum post is here.
