Overclocked, yet cheap

Nvidia is putting huge pressure on ATI with its prices. Its recently renamed Geforce 8800GS is currently available as Geforce 9600GSO and the cheapest one you can find is XFX Geforce 9600 GSO 580M, an overclocked card that sells for an amazingly low €90.

The card has an odd number of 384MB memory and it uses crippled 192-bit memory interface,

but it should be a good playing toy. The GPU works at 580MHz while the default chip runs at 550MHz. The Shaders at this card works at 1625MHz while the memory works at 1800MHz. The card uses G92 chip and it is probably the fastest and cheapest Nvidia card that you can get for €90.

The only challenger is Geforce 8800GT that cost just €20 to €30 more; and we are not sure what ends up faster, Geforce 9600GTO or Radeon 3850 that also sells for about €90.

You can get XFX 9600GSO here.
