Way ahead of the game

With the new Nvidia Geforce 9800 GTX set to launch on the first of April, some of Nvidia's partners have been getting ready early, although we can't really blame them, as this card isn't as big news as Nvidia might be hoping for.

Still, with a default core clock speed of 675Mz, a Shader clock of 1,688MHz and the GDDR3 memory at 2,200MHz, it looks like a pair of these might give the 9800GX2 a run for its money.

The only advantage the 9800GX2 really has is Quad-SLI, which also should launch later today, as the 9800GTX will be "limited" to 3-Way SLI. Price wise the 9800GX2 might work out as the better deal than going for a pair of 9800GTX, at least initially, when you consider that you can pick up a 9800GX2 for just under €435 and so far the only price on Geizhals.at for a 9800GTX is €299.

First out is Albatron who has its product page up here, although there's no picture of the card. Asus had their page up earlier, but it was taken down shortly afterward, although you should be able to find it here once the cards launch.
