A few Websites have reported that the R700 generation will end up as Radeon HD4000. We can confirm that this is something that ATI will decide at later date, but this might be one of the possibilities.

Most of the specifications floating around are bogus and ATI played the same game with R650 fake screenshots. They simply want to confuse and discredit some early birds. You probably remember how Radeon 2950 got renamed to 3870.

Just be careful, however, as some things such as GDDR5 support, are correct.
