The fastest we've heard so far

EVGA is planning to launch a 9600GT card clocked at a stunning 740MHz, which is 15MHz faster than the closest competitor. Maybe there will be someone to match this speed, but so far EVGA has the fastest one.

The EVGA will naturally call this card EVGA 9600GT Super clocked and the card will work at 740MHz GPU, 1830MHz Shaders and 1950MHz memory.

At preliminary tests, EVGA is about 12 percent faster than the reference card, at least when 3Dmark06 is the judge. The card scores 12,404 while the standard card scores 11,158.

EVGA will also have an EVGA 9600GT standard card at 650MHz core 1625MHz Shaders and 1800MHz memory, EVGA 9600GT Superclocked at 675MHz core, 1674MHz Shaders and 1800MHz memory – a modest overclocked one.

The runner-up card is EVGA 9600GT KO Knock out edition clocked at 700MHz core, 1773MHz Shaders and 1900MHZ memory.

We should have access to the fastest one shortly.
