We were pleasantly surprised to find that Jetway and Palit HD3850 256MB cards were listed and available for under €120 in Germany.

The lowest priced one comes from Jetway and it's available at €118, here. Several retailers have listed Palit's HD3850 at €122, but it's still not in stock at these new prices; here's the Geizhals listing. The retailers expect them in stock within the next ten days.

ATI is probably gearing up for the 8800 GS and not letting Nvidia match its prices. The cheapest available Geforce 8800 GS card comes from XFX and it's listed at €146. The vast majority of HD3850 cards currently retail at a similar price tag, but the new prices are 15 to 20 percent lower than Nvidia's.

If other ATI AIB's follow suit and drop HD3850 prices soon, Nvidia's 8800 GS will be facing some tough competition at ATI's rock bottom prices.
