ATI fixed the price of its R680 dual chip card to just above €400 and retailers should be selling them for €410, while e-tailers should offer them for up to €430.

This doesn’t look that bad, but it is just a bit over the cost of two Radeon 3870 cards that will give very similar performance to that of one Radeon 3870 X2, dual chip card.

On the other side, R680, the Radeon 3870 X2 runs at a slightly higher frequency and that might be the reason why the card might end up a bit more expensive, but it will be interesting to see how much Nvidia will want for Geforce 9800 GX2, as we’ve learned it will be far more than €430.
