Expreview.com has managed to gets its hands on the upcoming silent version of HD 3850 from Sapphire. We wrote about this card back at AMD's Spider launch event, and you can read that ihere.
According to the post over at Expreview.com, Sapphire's silent version will use 512MB of GDDR3 memory. The card is still based on the reference design and most likely reference clocks 670MHz/1.66GHz, since it uses passive cooling.
The new passive solution from Sapphire uses a huge heatsink, which is placed on the back of the card and connected to the core by three heat pipes. Even with that huge heatsink the card will probably need good case airflow, a must when we talk about passively cooled graphics cards, especially in this performance range.
You can check out the box and bundle as well as detail card pictures over at Expreview.com.
