8800 GTS 512MB almost as fast as GTX

We managed to get an early sneak peak into the 8800 GTS 512MB's 3Dmark06 performance and it looks like the new card will be performing very close to the 8800 GTX.

This is also the case in older versions of the 3Dmark benchmark; there is just a 100 point difference between the Geforce 8800 GTX and 8800 GTS 512MB.

It will still be interesting to see how it will perform in games, but a 650MHz clocked card with 128 Shaders has a lot more to offer and it will likely come overclocked, at least from some vendors.
