$550 and no price drops

DAAMIT
messed up Nvidia fan boys as well. Everyone expected that Nvidia will finally drop the price of the Geforce 8800 GTX, but that is not going to happen anytime soon.

The Radeon HD 2900XT clearly can not beat the Geforce 8800 GTX and therefore Nvidia doesn’t even joke about getting the price down. The GTX sells for about €500 in Europe and some $550 in America and of course we are talking about default clocked cards.

Unfortunately, a few sources confirmed that this price is here to stay for at least for some time, as ATI cards are not competitive against the GTX.

We already mentioned that the 8800 GTS 320 sells for €256 including shipping and the 640 MB version costs between €300-310 or a bit more if you want an overclocked card. The Geforce 8800 GTX won't go down in price anytime soon. Sorry to disappoint you, but don’t kill the messenger.
