Beside its prototypes that aren´t going to be available soon, Scythe also showed some coolers that are going to hit retail shelves pretty soon. The Kabuto, Katana 3, Zipang 2 and larger Shuriken should all be available either this month or sometime in April.

The new Kabuto features multiple airflow pass-through structure, top mounted 120mm fan spinning at up to 1,300RPM and six heatpipes. These heatpipes are connected to three seperate heatsinks, two heatpipes for each heatsink. This one looks a lot like the good old Andy Samurai cooler, but with some slight modifications. The baseplate is made out of nickel-plated copper while the entire cooler weighs 730 grams.





The Katana 3 is much smaller than the Kabuto, as it uses a 92mm fan that spins from 300 to 2,500RPM. The special thing about the Katana 3 is that it is angled so you can set it to blow on other components as well. It has six heatpipes connecting the nickel-plated copper base to a heatsink. Its dimensions are 94 x 108 x 143mm (WxDxH) and it weighs 459 grams.





The new version of the Zipang uses Scythe´s Kaze Maru 140mm fan that spins at 1000RPM, and it features six heatpipes. The previous version was very popular and we expect this one to justify its name as well. The dimensions are set at 145 x 149 x 106mm and it weighs 715 grams.



The new version of the Shuriken comes with four heatpipes instead of the three on the previous version. It also has a bigger 120mm fan, but the height remained the same. This one should appeal to those users that are building an slim desktop HTPC system, but still want their CPU to be cooled well.
