Dell claims that Ubuntu is better than Windows

It's safer

Dell,
which was practically a Siamese twin with Microsoft is now starting to say that Unbuntu is better than Windows.

If you have a look at the Dell Ubuntu web page it has "top 10 things to know" about Ubuntu. The list has all the usual things such as Ubuntu has a fast boot up time and it is free.

However there is the more controversial statement that “Ubuntu is safer than Microsoft Windows”. The reasoning is that the vast majority of viruses and spyware written by hackers are not designed to target and attack Linux.

So it is basically the same “security by obscurity” argument touted by Apple users, but it is interesting to see Dell use it. Our guess is that someone from Redmond will have a quiet word and this statement will disappear.
