Ramping up for groundbreaking new project

A lot of the news surrounding Electronic Arts lately where staffing is concerned were reports of more cuts and layoffs. Today, however, we have received word that EA will be ramping up its Salt Lake City studio in Utah by moving it to a larger facility, as well as adding more developers.

The expansion of the studio that is best known for the development of The Sims, Littlest Pet Shop, and the Nerf titles is said to be due to the fact that the studio is beginning to start work on a new project that the company is describing as a “groundbreaking” unannounced project.

Our sources tell us that EA is really keeping the details on this project quiet, but they are looking hard for the right collection of talent to build it. At a time when so many cuts have been made in the industry, it is nice to see that at least some expansion is going on.
