And highly detailed graphics

Although such information is usually kept under tight wraps, Nintendo’s top man, Satoru Iwata, has spilled some beans on the next-generation DS and the features it will pack.

In an interview with a Japanese newspaper, Mr. Iwata said how the next-generation DS will feature:”highly detailed graphics, and it will be necessary to have a sensor with the ability to read the movements of people playing.”

The aforementioned highly detailed graphics is currently rumored to be a direct result of using Nvidia’s Tegra, although it’s way too early for any claims. The sensor part is as vague as it gets, and while there’s talk of “reading movement”, it’s probably not the kind of motion-sensing you see with your Wii. What’s probably more likely is that Nintendo will include an accelerometer, and make its engineering team make the best of it to retain that DS feel.
