In talks with Foxconn, too
Acer expects its 2010 revenue to increase by 15 percent and it is in talks with Foxconn to contract notebook production.
Talking to the Wall Street Journal, an unnamed Acer exec said the
company expects to see strong demand in 2010, mostly fueled by China
and the Asia Pacific region. Acer expects the strongest growth in its
notebook business.
In related news, Acer chairman J.T. Wang announced the outfit was in
talks with Foxconn Electronics to outsource its future notebook
production. Presently, Acer notebooks are built by Compal, Wistron and
Quanta, while Foxconn should enter the fray post 2010.
Acer is currently the second largest PC maker in the world.
