Claims release date and price are yet to be decided on

Microsoft has gone on the rumor offensive and is attempting to set the current record straight as far as some of the recent discussion about the pricing model for Natal as well as the projected release date. According to the latest word from Xbox 360 land, nothing is official or has been decided in regard to the pricing or actual release date for Natal.

Our sources seem to suggest, however, that this is just a typical Microsoft smokescreen; and while things might change, the company is trying to get Natal to a $50 price point and they would like to see as many as 14 titles that support Natal to be ready at launch. The company needs to place an initial order, and while this number could change, it is likely that they will need to manufacture at least 5 million units in order to hit their price point.

The one part of the rumors that they didn’t seem to have any additional comment on is the likelihood that Natal will be available both separately and in a Natal Xbox 360 bundle deal that includes the console. Still, despite everything else that has been said, so far Microsoft has not disclaimed it as inaccurate or as undecided.

From what we hear, the information is accurate about the time frame for it to arrive and the pricing is still up in the air, but they would like to hit a $50 price point, if possible.
