Says to stay tuned for details

It seems that Microsoft has confirmed to other sources that our story yesterday that reported Microsoft was preparing to release a Wireless 802.11n network adapter for the Xbox 360 is, in fact, correct.

The actual reason for the confirmation might be the fact that the company itself let the cat out of the bag, as we found out today that advertising for the new Wireless N network adapter actually made it into the Game of the year edition of Gears of War 2 that recently showed up on Italian retailer shelves. The company might have felt in light of this evidence that they had no choice but to confirm the N adapter’s existence.

From what Microsoft is quoted as telling other sources, “…owners should stay tuned for further details on this product to be announced soon.”  In the confirmations that we have seen, the company gives no actual hint on when we can expect to see it arrive, but sources who first whispered the story to us still say that it is likely we will start to see it appear by the end of the year, followed by a more official launch at CES. It is unknown if it will actually make it in time for holiday buyers, but we would like to think this will be the case.
