Apple wants more NAND flash memory

Apple has increased its orders for NAND flash memory modules, according to the Apple Insider.

Apparently Hynix Semiconductors and Samsung Electronics are having logistical difficulties meeting Apple’s demands. DigiTimes says that Hynix and Samsung have started to hold more NAND module reserves for the iPhone-maker.

Apple is one of the biggest players in the NAND market and AppleInsider thinks the industry is feeling the giant’s appetite for memory modules. Global supply shortages are being reported industry-wide.
