Holds a third of the browser market

Mozilla's Firefox
is expected to mark another milestone today, as the one billionth download of the popular browser is expected withing the next 24 hours.

Firefox was launched five years ago, and the 1 billion figure encompasses all versions released over the years. Analysts believe Firefox currently has a market share of around 31 percent, and it is still growing. Microsoft's Explorer is still top dog, with a 60 percent share, but Chrome, Safari and Opera are dwarfed by both IE and Firefox, as their combined market share is under 10 percent.

A few days ago, Mozilla released several photos of Firefox 4.0, which has a somewhat improved UI and a completely redesigned look to keep up with the competition.
