OCZ's Z-Series PSUs get its 80Plus certification

OCZ's upcoming Z-Series PSUs which were showcased at CeBIT got its 80Plus Gold and Silver certifications. The Z-Series will include Z1000, Z650 and Z550 models, and will be available later this spring.

The Z1000, 1kW PSU has received the 80Plus Gold certifications, which means that it has a tested efficiency of at least 87 percent under 20 and 100 percent load and 90 percent efficiency under 50 percent load. The 650W and 550W models have received the 80Plus Silver certifications so they are rated to deliver at elast 85 percent efficiency under 20 and 100 percent load and 88 percent under 50 percent load.

The Z-Series will have single +12V rail with 83 Amps for the 1kW version, standard ATX size, low noise bottom placed fan and a modular or non-modular configurations for the 1kW model (Z1000 or Z1000M). The entire series will be backed up by a 5-year warranty.
