Single drive

Western Digital
has stuck a 2TB Caviar Green drive into the MyBook external case, to create the world's first single drive 2TB external storage unit.

Launched a couple of months ago, the 2TB Caviar Green is still the biggest hard drive on the market, although it's a pricey piece of kit looking at the price per gigabyte. The new external drive will ship in four flavors: My Book Studio Edition, My Book Mac Edition, My Book Home Edition and My Book Essential Edition.

It is expected to hit retail next month, with prices ranging from $329 to $379 depending on the model.
