The guys over at TechArp have recently unveiled Microsoft's newest milestone plans for its upcoming 'Office 14' suite, with dates that seem right on par with what is to be expected.
New information tells us that Microsoft will issue an
overview of the SKU lineup and a customer value proposition sometime next
quarter. This should give us insight into the naming scheme that will be used,
and while many are placing bets on the name "Office 2010," there is
no confirmed suite name as of yet.
In Q3, the company plans to release a variety of marketing information
for equipment manufacturers including OEM royalty rates, and
incentive programs. As we head closer to the launch of Windows 7 in Q4, marketing readiness strategies and opportunities for OEM partners will be
also made available.
The last statement that the milestone update declares is
that the final RTM version will be made available in 2010. As we have confirmed
in an earlier report, this step can be expected to take place in early March 2010, while the
retail products may hit store shelves any time in April.
