BFG has unveiled its newest and beefiest PSU, the EX-1200. The new EX-1200 packs 1200 Watts of power and has quad +12V rails.
The new EX-1200 PSU fetures a modular design and is compliant with ATX12V 2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 standards. It also features the Frequency Conversion technology which enables it to maintain at least 80% efficiency even when running in idle mode. It has quad +12V rails with 40 Amps each and a maximum combined +12V wattage of 1180 Watts.
The new EX-1200 also has a separate +5VSB rail which should ensure better efficiency when the unit is in stanby or powered down.
The new EX-1200 features three 6-pin PCI-Express and three 8-pin PCI Express connectors so those SLI (or Crossfire) setups are well taken care of. It also comes with a total of nine 4-pin Molex and twelve SATA connectors, as well as the two 4-pin floppy connectors.
The PSU is cooled by a bottom mounted, temperature regulated, 135mm fan. The guys from Guru3D already had a chance to test this beast out and you can find their review
here. The PSU should already be available with a suggested price tag of US $249.
