The end is finally at hand with the liquidation over

As of Sunday, Circuit City has closed for the final time. While some stores had already run out of inventory long ago during its liquidation sale, the majority of the stores closed on Sunday. According to sources, some stores that have inventory of value left will have it skidded up and sent off for retail liquidation purchase by others that are interested.

From what we saw, the deals were very hit or miss, with some shoppers actually paying more than they should have. However, many stores sold out to the bare walls, including store fixtures and office equipment. Reports suggest that the liquidation of Circuit City moved over $1.7+ billion in inventory during the sale.

While Circuit City in the U.S. is closing, a deal has been done in Canada to continue the operation of the Circuit City stores there under the name of “The Source by Circuit City,” which have been purchased by Bell Canada. Our sources tell us that the new stores in Canada will put a heavier focus on selling Bell Mobility Wireless services as well as BellExpressVu satellite TV systems, which are both owned by Bell of Canada.
