Features WiFi and integrated router

We're not sure what the Eee D200 from Asus is, as so far the only information that seems to have turned up is a photograph with a feature table next to it, which was sent to Engadget. However, looking at the features listed, it looks like it's some kind of home server, especially as the slogan is "Easy to share, save and access".

The D200 is an odd combination of hardware, as at its core is an Atom N270 mobile processor and as such the 945GSE chipset, but Asus has added 2GB of DDR2 memory, a 3.5in LCD display, space for two 3.5in SATA hard drives with RAID support and a slim-line slot-in optical drive. As if this wasn't enough, the D200 also has a built in 802.11n MIMO WiFi access point and a four port Gigabit router with a Gigabit WAN port.

But where it gets really confusing is the fact that the D200 still have a DVI port, 5.1-channel audio and four USB 2.0 ports. The D200 also has 512MB of flash memory for what we guess is mean for OS storage, so it's unlikely this system runs Windows, unless it's something like Windows XP Embedded. At 275x98x208mm (HxWxD) it's a fairly compact system and we really hope this is a future product from Asus, despite it's weirdness factor.
