The 850W model

Corsair has launched a new model in its TX series of power supply units, the 850W model. Corsair's TX series is aimed at PC enthusiasts and gamers, and features single 12V rail, efficiency higher than 80 percent and 99 percent Active PFC.

Unlike the 750W model which had 60Amps on the +12V rail, the new TX850W PSU has 70Amps. Same as the 750W model we suspect that this one will also feature one ATX 24-pin, one ATX12V 8-pin, eight SATA, eight 4-pin molex, two floppy connectors and four PCI-Express connectors. The new 850W model will also be cooled by a 140mm thermally controlled double ball-bearing fan.

The price and the availability date are still unknown, but as the 650W and 750W models are retailing at around €80 and €100, we suspect that the new 850W could end up priced around the €120 mark.
