There more signs that the hardware industry is starting to consolidate to come up with better technology breakthroughs.
In the latest deal, Macronix will team up with Qimonda to co-develop flash technology.
A spokesman for Macronix said that talks over the cooperation about a year ago, and all technology involving non-volatile memory and PSRAM will be included in the plan.
Macronix's is attempting to see off a move by Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC) to take over control of the company.
