In-house design

Somewhat unexpected Samsung has revealed its own, in-house designed, Atom powered netbook in Korea during a Wibro technology event. Wibro is Korea's version of WiMAX and it gives away the fact that the new Samsung netbook will feature Wibro support, although it might feature other connectivity options such as 3G or WiMAX in other markets.

Other details include a 10in display with a possible 8.9in model also in the works. From what we could make out from the pictures, the rest is just standard netbook specifications, such as three USB 2.0 ports, mic and headphone jacks, a D-sub connector, 10/100Mbit Ethernet and an SD card slot.

The new netbook is expected to launch sometime in October in Korea and time will tell if the rest of the world will get its hands on it or not. It looks quite smart and it appears to have a pretty decent keyboard, but we'll have to wait for more details until we make up our minds.
