HTC Hima might be One M9

by on25 December 2014

Snapdragon 810 and 5-inch screen

I still remember the 4.3-inch HTC HD2 and the fact that everyone around me was calling this phone insanely big.

It turns out that even mini phones these days are coming with 4.7-inch screens. HTC’s flagship HTC One M8 is probably the best built android phone on the market with its high quality metal body and it looks like its successor might also come in the same 5.0-inch size.

Recent leaks indicate that the HTC One, codenamed Hima, measures 144.3 x 69.4 x 9.56mm, which is very close to 146.4 x 70.6 x 9.4mm of the HTC One M8. The same source claims that the phone comes with Snapdragon 810 2.0GHz quad-core + 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 5-inch Full HD display and 3GB of RAM.

The most interesting part of the specifications that the main camera is now based on a 20.7-megapixel sensor, while the front facing camera might be a 13-megapixel or 4-megapixel UltraPixel unit, probably depending on the market. The leak suggests that the phone has a 2840mAh battery, 240mAh bigger than the 2600mAh unit in the HTC One M8 and the phone comes in grey, silver, gold and gunmetal gray.

Naturally it will launch Android 5.0 Lollipop and comes with HTC’s new Sense 7.0 user interface. The suggested launch date is March 2015 and since the Mobile World Congress is taking place in March, it is a safe bet that we will see this phone there. We can only hope that the specs are right, as they are currently very hard to check, but if this is the exact phone specification, the Hima has everything it takes to compete in 2015.
