Microsoft is serious about trying to maintain momentum

Greenberg claims they are”just getting started”

Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg says that now that the Xbox One has some momentum after squarely thrashing the PlayStation 4 over the month of November, he says “we are just getting started”, in a Tweet from his Twitter feed.

Greenberg who is the Senior Director of the Studios Marketing Group, for all of the first as well as third party games on the Xbox One. It would seem that the confidence of holiday success from years gone by help him to feel that the 2015 Holiday will be no different from other holidays seasons where Microsoft has dominated. Word continues that they have too many titles for Holiday 2015 and some may have to be moved into Q1 2016.

Momentum is a strange thing and it is not easy to predict what is going to happen next. We have never wavered from our opinion here at Fudzilla that while the PlayStation 4 has had the lead, we believed that a good number of Xbox 360 owners had either not yet upgraded or had not yet decided to upgrade. This second wave of Xbox 360 upgraders we believe will hit this holiday season and no question it will help Microsoft and the Xbox One’s numbers.

Still one of the big problems for both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 is that the new software isn’t coming out fast enough and in the mean time we have been treated to a lot of remastered and HD versions of games we already played on the previous console generation. OK, so it was kind of cool to play Sleeping Dogs again, but this time with much better graphics and frame rate. I enjoyed GTA 5’s new version for the Xbox One even more than the 360 version because of all of the extras. Still I would not want a steady diet of remastered offerings and you are going to need more than this to maintain momentum.
