Doubles profit in record sale

As Samsung is losing market share, another Korean company, which many had written off, is gaining.

LG is a big company and it reported revenue of KRW 14.92 trillion (USD 14.54 billion), an increase of 7.4 percent year-over-year, and operating profit of KRW 461.3 billion (USD 449.61 million), more than double the figure from the same period a year ago.

The LG Home Entertainment Company has reported KRW 4.71 trillion (USD 4.59 billion), which is a 3 percent drop compared the same period last year.

The LG Mobile Communications Company shipped a record-breaking 16.8 million smartphones in the third quarter, an increase of 39 percent year-on-year and 16 percent more units than the previous quarter. With sales of KRW 4.25 trillion (USD 4.14 billion) and operating income of KRW 167.4 billion (USD 163.16 million) this was the highest quarter in companies history since 2009.
LG Mobile Communications Company had two consecutive profitable quarters and we are quite sure that products such as successful LG G2 and LG G3 including the mini version contributed heavily to these good results. LG claims that the G series and L series did kicking the competition.

LG can increase the sales in its tablet market with more products like LG G Pad 8.3 and by refreshing those sorts of products.

The company also promised Q4 2015 release of Android 5.0 for LG G3 something that will be praised by the LG G3 owners. We were not happy that the  LG G3 16GB arrived with 1GB memory while 32GB ended up with 2GB but again the 16GB version ends up selling for €389.95. Samsung Galaxy S5 sells for €468 in Germany  while HTC One M8 sells for €399 at German Amazon.

We are sure that next round of high end phones, that is expected in early March 2015 at the Mobile World Congress, will bring some great phones for all Android competitors. We expect that LG G4 will be an interesting device.
