Feature is a little tougher than first thought

According to Microsoft the most asked for feature on the Xbox One is the ability to take screenshots. Xbox Head-honcho Phil Spencer acknowledged this recently in an interview that we told you about and said they are working on making this requested feature a reality in one of the upcoming updates on the Xbox One.

The thing is however, it is apparently a bit more technically challenging to take and share screenshots on the Xbox One than first though. The success of the PlayStation 4’s Share feature has made the inability to take and share screenshots on the Xbox One a much bigger deal than one might expect.

So Spencer told IGN that the developers want to do more than just frame grab because they want high quality stills. So because of this it is going to take time, but the team has a good path to getting it does and it is just a question of priorities.

The bottom line is Xbox One will not be getting the screenshot functionality added in the November or December updates, but it is on track for early 2015.

Speaking of the December update, apparently it will be pretty modest as there are so many consoles coming out over the holidays, that this is what makes the most sense.
