Apple to expand sales options for consumers

The 3G iPhone will soon be available for sale at 970 Best Buy stores starting September 7th. Best Buy has been an Apple retail partner for some time, so it is not surprising that Best Buy will start selling the iPhone, as well.

Best Buy will join AT&T Wireless stores and Apple Stores as the only other retail option for consumers to purchase the iPhone. Best Buy has just completed over 250,000 hours of additional training with its employees to compliment the upgraded phone departments in most Best Buy locations.

Apple needs to expand the retail purchase options for the iPhone in order to reach their lofty goal of selling 10 million units before the end of 2008. Best Buy continues to be a strong push behind cell phone sales, which has been a good area for the company, and the addition of the iPhone should equal strong sales for Best Buy, who claims that customers are looking forward to the iPhone being available at BestBuy locations.
