Out-of-warranty repairs for iPhone 6/Plus updated

by on22 September 2014

Could be as much as $299/$399 for 6/Plus

The cost of out-of-warranty repairs for your Apple iPhone 6 or 6 Plus have been updated on the web site for Apple. The news isn’t good as Apple has revealed that the an out-of-warranty iPhone 6 will cost $299 and for the iPhone 6 Plus it will cost $399. This is a $30 and $60 increase over the iPhone 5s/5c/5 prices.

You still have the option to purchase AppleCare+ Plus for $99 that covers the iPhone 6 for two years and users are allowed two accidental damage repairs during the two-year coverage period, that is of course minus a $79 service fee for each.

The replacement price for an out-of-warranty battery replacement is still $79 plus shipping and that covers all iPhone models. The price to fix accidental screen damage only runs $109 for the iPhone 6, while the rest of the iPhone pack, plus the iPhone 6 Plus costs $129 to replace accidental screen damage. Of course you will still have to pay the $6.95 shipping fee.

It is hard to say which plan is best for you, but those who have track record for being tough on their iPhones or are just plain clumsy, might want to look at some sort of protection. We can’t count the times that we have hear how this has saved someone a big bill and at the same time we have heard over and over again here in North America how much of a spot someone was in because they had no warranty plan, they were stuck in a contract, and the cell provider had no sympathy for them and it costs hundreds of dollars to again have a cell phone of any type, let alone a replacement for the broken smart phone they had in the first place.
