GeForce 344.11 driver adds GTX 980, 970 support

by on19 September 2014

Latest games as well

Nvidia has just released the 344.11 WHQL driver to accompany the Geforce GTX 980 and 970. We spent some time with both cards and concluded that they are very efficient and relatively games.

The new driver also officially supports Nvidia G-SYNC surround display settings and it ensure best performance and game play of the latest game titles including Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, The Evil Within, F1 2014, and Alien: Isolation.

Nvidia recommends these drivers for older Kepler Geforce GTX 600 and GTX 750 first generation Maxwell cards, as they should be the best choice for these new titles. In addition Nvidia has released a new Geforce Experience 2.1.2 that adds Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR) mode for GeForce GTX 900 series GPUs, adds 4K ShadowPlay recording for GeForce GTX 900 series GPUs and improves ShadowPlay performance of SLI configurations in conjunction with the 344.11 driver.

Shield Tablet users who own the wireless controller will now be able to use it on their PC. However, wireless capability, headset jack, and microphone are not supported on Windows PCs. Additionally, the volume buttons and Android Home button are not supported but the rest should work.

With this in mind, the Shield wireless controller should just be called the ‘Shield controller’ sans wireless when it is used on a PC, but it will let you get a console-like gaming experience, albeit not wireless.
