IDF 2014: Does that bring any profit?

Intel CEO Brian Krzanich just kicked off the IDF 2014 keynote and it started with a phone avatar, some Katy Perry videos and talk of 50 billion connected devices by 2020.

Krzanich he also mentioned that Intel is on track to hit its tablet shipment target of 40 million chips in 2014. We are not sure if this means that Intel makes any money on them, but they will end up selling quite a few chips.

Most of these tablets are quite affordable and they work well, Windows 8.1 is starting to make sense even in 8-inch format, but you really want a 10-inch device if you are looking for productivity rather than content consumption.

And now it got to the point that Greg McKelvey, EVP for chipset strategy and marketing took the stage to talk about Fossil Intel powered smartwatches, stay tuned.
