Was retailing for €167

It seems like Asus's Eee Box 202 has proven to be a popular system in some regions, although it has yet to hit retail in Europe and the U.S. as yet. Digitimes is reporting that Asus has sold out all of its stock that was set aside for the Taiwanese market, although it seems like it was a mere 1,000 units or there about.

It's not hard to see why, as at €167 a pop, the Eee Box 202 is truly a bargain, especially as it features DVI, optical S/PDIF out and built in WiFi among its features. For the poor sods in Australia, this "bargain" system is going for a hefty €289 in comparison, which isn't quite the same deal.

We're wondering if the shortage of the Eee Box 202 has something to do with the shortage of Atom processors from Intel, and the fact that Asus has sold out in its home market doesn't bode well for the U.S. and European product availability.

Also, according to Digitimes, Asus is planning on releasing a new bundle, with the Eee Box 202 hitting sometime in September, which will see it shipping with a keyboard, mouse and Eee Stick motion controllers. The price for this bundle seems a little bit steep at an estimated retail price of €271.
